About Us
Thomastown West kindergarten is a community-based sessional kindergarten in the City of Whittlesea. We are a stand-alone service and are managed by our own Committee of Management. The kindergarten’s building and the land on which it stands are owned by the Whittlesea Council which is responsible for the structural safety of the building.
The staff of Thomastown West Kindergarten are passionate, dedicated, and loving and share a wealth of experience in Early Childhood education. Our teachers and educators love their work and strive to create a positive and inclusive environment for all children.
Our Staff
Carla De Sousa
Director
Carla commenced as the Director of Thomastown West Kindergarten in 2019 and has worked with Thomastown families since 2016. She has 21 years of experience working as a teacher and Director throughout Melbourne and the UK. Carla holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Studies and has experience working with children who have special needs leading their Early Years. She is the Nominated Supervisor, Director and educational Leader of the Kindergarten.
Carmie Ranoa
Teacher
Carmie is the lead teacher an teacher and provides extra support through the School Readiness program during the week. She has been working with our Thomastown families since 2019 and currently holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood and Primary Education
Cathrine Krousoratis
Teacher
Cathrine is an Educator who began with us in 2022 and has over 11 years of experience in Early Education. She holds a diploma of Early Years Education and obtained her diploma of Early Childhood in 2020.
