Welcome to Our Kindergarten
When a child first enters our kindergarten they bring with them a rich history of relationships, a natural curiosity, and a desire to learn. Our aim is to become a part of children’s lives, to know them, to connect with them, to challenge them, and to develop a strong sense of identity and belonging in them.
Established in 1973, Thomastown West Kindergarten is managed by volunteer parents who are elected to form a committee of management each year, at the Annual General Meeting.
We are proud of the quality reflected in our community-based centre, and encourage you to visit and look around.
Thomastown West Kindergarten acknowledges the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nation as the Traditional Custodians of the land on which our Kindergarten is located. We honour the strength and resilience of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and pay our respects to all Elders, past and present.
Our Kindergarten
Thomastown West Kindergarten offers preschool programs for children aged between 3 and 5 years of age. All of the programs are run by diploma educators and experienced degree qualified teachers. We provide a mixed age program (both 3 and 4 Year Old) which offers 15 hours a week over 3 sessions.
Our programs are designed so that every child will develop at their own rate. During your child’s kindergarten year you will see many changes as your child and the group progresses to their next stage in life
